Energize Your Woman Power with Feel-Strong Tunes

I love good music but there are some songs that just stir my soul down to my toes. They are almost always what might be called “feminist” songs about and by women. Whatever. They lift me up, make me want to strut, or make me want to dance. I hope they lift you up as well.

These are from one of my Spotify play lists. They are listed in no particular order:

“I Will Survive”

Gloria Gaynor, 1978.

This song has been my anthem through some of life’s trials and tribulations.

“Bad Reputation,”

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, 1980.

“Born this Way,”

Lady Gaga, 2011.

“I’m Every Woman,”

Chaka Khan, 1978.

“Confident,”

Demi Lovato, 2015.

“Flowers,”

Miley Cyrus, 2023.

Before you listen to this one, I have to warn you. This is my number one earworm these days. Listen if you dare. lol

“Girl on Fire,”

Alicia Keys, 2012.

“The Climb,”

Miley Cyrus, 2009.

This one is a little different because it speaks to one’s creative journey and I think also represents some woman power as well. Anyway, I love the song and hope you do too.

“I am Woman,”

Helen Ready, 1972.

“Respect,”

Aretha Franklin, 1967.

Man, Aretha could SING. Though I didn’t listen to it when it first came out, I discovered this song and adored it. It will always be in my top 10 favorites. Maybe even as high as top 5.

If you enjoyed this list, you might enjoy my “Fellowship Dystopia” list.

I’d love to add to this list. What are your favorites?
