It’s a new year and many of you have set ambitious goals or resolutions. Here are some thoughts on how you might actually meet those goals this year. Maybe you’ll set yourself on fire and exceed your goals.
The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed. – Nelson Boswell
Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. – Thomas Edison
Put your boots on and keep on working!
Have you worked-like-a-demon on your story? -Tom Peters
Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.
– Reggie Leach
After a slow start last years — and too many distractions to get much writing done — this year, I’m putting on the books and I’m just going to power through. 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement, Lynette!
You aren’t the only one who’s had too many distractions, Shelia. 🙂 I’ve made a similar decision. Here’s to powering through!
Having clearly defined goals helps me, but even then I sometimes have trouble staying motivated. Always looking for help in that regard!
I agree, Jennette, S.M.A.R.T. goals are very helpful. If you feel your motivation lacking give me a shout, I’ll cheer you on.
Oh Lynette, I think that I’ve been on fire and I’ve actually burned up all my fuel girl. I can only take it one day at a time. I do not have the energy to look too far into the future at the moment. I’m in a recovery period, although I would really like to finish just one book. But who knows when that will be. There seems to be a new fire always needing to be put out all the time. I love your attitude Lynette. I hope that you are able to make all your new goals for 2013. I’ll be cheering you on! 🙂
Karen, you are in a really tough place right now. One day at a time is okay. {{{Hugs}}} You will finish that book and more, even if you write one sentence a day right now. Thanks for the cheering,
Love this! I seem to have a constant fire under me. LOL. I have been working like a demon on two different projects. Time to finish them both and start the next three. 🙂
Good for you, Diana! You seem to be one of the people who thrive on multiple fires, er, projects. Thanks for stopping by!
